JV Football Clinches 2nd Place in Mid-State 2-A Conference

On a cold and windy night in Yanceyville, Sophomore quarterback Dominique Snipes and Sophomore running back Durell Newby teamed up for 3 scores as Graham won 20-0.
With the win, the Red Devils wrap up 2nd place in the Mid-State 2-A Conference. Their only loss in conference play was to Reidsville 2 weeks ago.
At the 10:13 mark in the 2nd quarter, Dominique Snipes scampered 38 yards for Graham's
1st touchdown. Gexar Martinez pushed the PAT wide to the left, as Graham led 6-0.
Snipes hooked up with Durell Newby with 2:02 remaining in the 2nd quarter on a 16 yard pass to put the Red Devils up 12-0. Snipe's 2-point PAT pass was dropped in the endzone.
Snipes and Newby once again linked up for a touchdown, with 3:08 remaining in the 3rd quarter. This toss was a 3 yarder. Jamaree Torain grabbed the 2-point PAT pass from Snipes, as the Red Devils built their lead to 20-0.
Graham finishes play 7-3 overall, 5-1 in the conference. Hats off to the JV's for an outstanding season! |
